Politicians Betting On Their Team For BCS Title

Nelson Will Sing "Oklahoma" If Florida Loses, Coburn Will Sing "Rocket Man" If Oklahoma Loses

Governor Crist will give a box of oranges to Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry if Florida loses, if Oklahoma loses Henry will give Crist a shipment of steaks

WASHINGTON (CBS4.com) ― It seems almost everyone has an opinion on Thursday's BCS Championship Game between Florida and Georgia. Even though House majority leader Nancy Pelosi refused to reschedule votes so House members can watch the game, a couple of Senators and governors decided to show their support for their home state school with a pair of friendly wagers.

Florida governor Charlie Crist and Oklahoma governor Brad Henry have taken their sides in the showdown between the Sooners and the Gators. If Florida wins, Henry has promised Crist a shipment of steaks. On the flip side, if Oklahoma wins, Crist has promised to send a box of Florida oranges to Henry.

Not to be outdone by their respective governors, Oklahoma U.S. Senator Tom Coburn and Florida Senator Bill Nelson will show off their musical ability if their respective teams lose. Coburn will have to sing Elton John's "Rocket Man" at Senator Nelson's next constituent coffee if the Florida Gators win the national championship. Conversely, if the Sooners take down the Gators, Nelson will have to sing "Oklahoma!" at Coburn's next constituent coffee.

The song "Oklahoma!" is often played by the University of Oklahoma's marching band during football games. "Rocket Man" fits Nelson because of his expertise on space issues.

The Gators are roughly a 3 point favorite going into Thursday's championship game.
