Car Strikes Boy On Bicycle

A 12-year-old boy riding his bicycle outside his North Miami-Dade home was struck by a passing car Tuesday.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. according to CBS4 news partners The Miami Herald.

Miami-Dade fire rescue officials said the boy was pedaling out of his driveway near Northwest 203rd Street and Fourth Avenue.

A black Chevrolet Impala hit him and knocked him to the ground.  The driver stayed at the scene.

Paramedics flew the boy to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center .
