Former President Bill Clinton will be in South Florida next week to receive a special honor.
Mr. Clinton will be the guest speaker at the Miami "Dream Dinner" event to raise money for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation. Mr. Clinton will also receive an award for his humanitarian work.
The event will be held January 8th, 2009 at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach.
According to the Memorial Foundation's website:
The "Dream Dinner" campaign will raise funds to help build the historic four-acre Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, DC. The Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation has already raised $100 million out of the needed $120 million and the Miami "Dream Dinner" campaign will add significantly to this goal.
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, which donated $1 million to the Memorial Foundation, will serve as the lead dinner sponsor for the Miami event.
