Bill Clinton In Miami To Receive Special Honor

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) ― Former President Bill Clinton is in South Florida to receive a special honor. Mr. Clinton, who will be the guest speaker at an event Thursday evening to raise money for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation, will receive an award for his humanitarian work.

The event will be held at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach.

According to the Memorial Foundation's website:

The "Dream Dinner" campaign will raise funds to help build the historic four-acre Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, DC.  The Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation has already raised $100 million out of the needed $120 million and the Miami "Dream Dinner" campaign will add significantly to this goal.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, which donated $1 million to the Memorial Foundation, is the lead sponsor for the Miami event.
