Broward County Opens Cold Weather Shelters

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― Cold weather shelters for the homeless opened up in Broward County Tuesday night.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures dropping to the mid-40s overnight (including wind chill).

Homeless people are advised to report to the following locations no later than 6:30 p.m. for transportation to special cold shelters:

City Hall
100 W. Atlantic Blvd.
Pompano Beach
(Meet on the south side parking lot)

Salvation Army
1445 W. Broward Blvd.
Fort Lauderdale

North 21 Ave. & Lincoln St.
Hollywood

North 21 Ave. & Sherman St.
Hollywood

You can contact Broward County Emergency Management Division at (954) 831-3900 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

After hours, you can contact Broward County Warning Point at (954) 765-5100.
