FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― South Florida, known for its sunny skies and warm temperatures, is getting downright cold again. With temperatures forecast to drop into the low 30s overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning Freeze and Wind Chill warnings have been issued for inland areas of Miami Dade and Broward counties.

Charitable groups are trying to word out to the homeless to seek shelter. The Homeless Trust of Miami Dade County has set up a hotline number 1-877-994-4357 that people on the streets can call to obtain shelter. In addition to that, more than 40 Homeless Outreach workers are on the streets encouraging homeless people to enter a shelter.

The Salvation Army of Broward County, 1445 West Broward Blvd. will open their doors to homeless people who need a place to stay during the cold weather. Food and hot beverages will be served.

"No one will be turned away," said Captain Tom Louden, Area Commander.

In Broward, word has being spread among the homeless to be at the following locations no later than 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night for transportation to special cold night shelters:

Pompano Beach
City Hall
100 W. Atlantic Blvd.
(Meet on the Southeast corner)

Fort Lauderdale
Salvation Army
1445 W. Broward Blvd.

Hollywood
Corner of North 21st Ave. & Lincoln St. and/or corner of North 21st Ave. & Sherman St.
(both locations east of railroad tracks)

This is the second night of the cold weather shelter activation. The shelters will close Thursday mornng at 9:00 a.m.
