Would-Be Burger King Bandits Caught On Camera

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― Apparently two would-be robbers didn't get it 'their way' when they tried to hold up a Burger King on Dania Beach.

The two men entered the restaurant, located at 1800 Stirling Road, just before 9 p.m. last Monday.

A witness told a Broward Sheriff's deputy they saw the two sitting in a two-door, black or navy blue, older model sports utility vehicle outside the restaurant just before they went inside the restaurant. Once inside, they approached a cashier, ordered food and one of the men handed over a $5 bill. When the cashier opened the cash register drawer, the other man pulled out a hand gun and reportedly said "Give me the money."

The scared cashier jumped backward and as she did so slammed the cash drawer with her thigh. The man with the gun ran out. His accomplice followed, after getting his $5 back from the cashier.

Witnesses described the armed man as being about 5-foot-7, 180 pounds and bald with an unshaven face. He wore a white shirt and black pants. His accomplice was 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds and wore sunglasses, a hat, a black shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who recognizes the two is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
