PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) ―
A Miramar teen was killed, a second teen critically injured after the car they traveling in crashed into a concrete pole in Pembroke Pines.
The accident happened early Saturday morning in the 14-thousand block of Sheridan Street. Pembroke Pines police said just after midnight Kamran Hanif, 18, lost control of his 2007 Toyota. The car veered off the road, hit the pole and then slammed into a wall bordering the Pembroke Falls Community. When the car hit the pole Antonio Rodriguez III, 16, and another passenger, David Lopez, 18, were thrown from the vehicle.
Rodriguez died on the scene and Lopez was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood in critical condition.
Hanif and two other passengers, 15-year-old Anderson Mora and 19-year-old Edward Theard, were also taken to the hospital. Hanif and Theard were treated and released; Mora is listed in stable condition.
