Teen Dies In Fatal Car Crash

COOPER CITY (CBS4) ― A Cooper City teen died Thursday morning after his car crashed into a tree.

Broward Sheriff's Office said Alexander F. DePaula Silva, 19, died in the area of Stonebridge Parkway and Southeast Lake Boulevard in Cooper City at about 2:30 a.m.  

That's when deputies found a 1998 four-door Jaguar wrapped around a tree in the median of Stonebridge Parkway. Silva was found trapped inside the mangled vehicle. He was declared dead on the scene.

BSO Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
