Gov. Crist Highlights Job Creation In Dade Visit

WEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― Gov. Crist on Wednesday afternoon visited the West Dade Career Central  highlighting job creation, and discussing the possibilities of President Obama's Federal Stimulus Plan.

On Feb. 20th, he outlined his proposed $66.5-billion budget, which contained recommendations for investments in education, workforce development and career training.

The governor said his proposed 2009-10 budget will create or retain 314,590 jobs. Florida is slated to receive $12.2-billion of the $787-billion included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act over three years.

He used the visit to extol the virtues of the plan.

"I think it's the right thing to do; I know it's the right thing for Florida," said Crist.

The center is located at 2700 SW 97th Avenue.
