Teen Hitman Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison

Daniel LeFrancois Accepted Plea Deal

Will Perform 2 Years Community Service After Prison

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― A North Lauderdale teen who tried to kill his girlfriend's stepfather has been sentenced to 4 years in prison as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Last March, 17-year old Daniel James LeFrancois pleaded guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the attack on 49-year old James Graziose.

Investigators say Graziose's wife, 42-year old Ann Graziose, offered the teen 10-thousand to kill her husband. LeFrancois reportedly attacked Graziose with a hammer as he sat on a bench with his wife near the Pompano Beach pier. A homeless man chased LeFrancois away while Ann Graziose screamed for help and called 911. Police say if it wasn't for the homeless man's intervention, James Graziose may have died.

Initially, Ann Graziose denied knowing the attacker but eventually admitted that she offered LeFrancois money to kill her husband.

During Thursday sentencing LeFrancois was given 4 years in prison followed by 2 years of community service. In exchange, he'll testify against Ann Graziose who has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and attempted murder charges.
