Miami-Dade police are investigating a deadly police involved shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade and the victim was a dog.

According to police, officers responded to a call at 15571 SW 258th Terrace on Friday afternoon.

When the officers arrived at the scene, a dog lunged at an officer and the officer discharged his weapon, killing the dog.

Police have not released any additional details.
