2 Dead After Car Slams Into Concrete Pole

Driver Jose Larroy, Father Of 4, Killed

Xavier Hernandez Also Killed

Randy Saldana Survived But Is In Critical Condition
NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― A father of four has died, along with another person, after their car slammed head on into a concrete column in Northwest Miami-Dade early Monday morning.

The accident took place around 4:30 a.m. at 6300 NW 27th Avenue and for hours after, distraught family and friends showed up at the scene in disbelief.

The black Dodge Charger was a mangled mess. The front end came to rest against the concrete column. The backside was up against a palm tree and other parts of the car were scattered all over the road.

The driver, 28-year old Jose Larroy was killed on the scene, along with his backseat passenger, Xavier Hernandez. The front seat passenger, Randy Saldana, was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition.

CBS4's Marybel Rodriguez spoke to the driver's wife. "He was my best friend. He was so good. I don't know why, I don't know why," cried Jessica Monsalve. Larroy and Monsalve have four children.

She said she spoke with her husband just a couple of hours before the accident. "I asked him if he could drive, if he was okay and he told me 'yes', and then he never answered his phone again," said Monsalve.

She said the three men were coming home from Bayside Marketplace.

Police say speed played a role in this accident and they're waiting on toxicology reports to see if alcohol played a factor.
