Deadly Accident Brings Tri-Rail To A Standstill

Person Struck & Killed In Delray Beach

DELRAY BEACH (CBS4) ― A deadly accident on the tracks of Tri-Rail in Palm Beach County has brought the train service to a stand still.

Tri-Rail spokeswoman Jennifer Paul said a person walking along the tracks in Delray Beach around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday was struck and killed by a train.

The accident disrupted service in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade counties.  Passengers were asked to remain on the train involved in the accident until police had concluded their investigation.  The were released shortly after 2 p.m. 

Police have not said if the person who was killed was male or female, or why they may have been walking along the tracks Sunday afternoon.
