Sentences Handed Down For Two Drug Smugglers

WEST PALM BEACH (CBS4) ― A U.S. District Court Judge has sentenced Mark Pinder to 12 years in jail and Parson Exana to 9 years in jail for their part in a cocaine smuggling operation. The crime involved nearly 300 kilograms of cocaine.

According to federal investigators, ICE agents received roughly 297 kilograms of cocaine from Pinder on May 25, 2009. The cocaine was then moved to Palm Beach County.

The next day, a controlled delivery of the cocaine was performed and both Pinder and Exana were arrested at the time. Pinder is a Bahamian citizen, while Exana last resided in Miramar, Florida.

ICE, DEA, Customs and Border Protection, the Jupiter Police Department, Boca Raton Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office were all part of the operation.
