7 Can't Miss Trends For Fall Fashion
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
It's hard to notice the difference in Miami from summer to fall, but one way you can tell is by the fashions. To help you update your wardrobe to reflect the season,
CBS4's Lisa Petrillo joined with our partners at Miami Magazine and Neiman Marcus at Merrick Park to bring you the seven magnificent trends for fall.
The two of them, along with a few other fashion lovers hosted an event recently called
Neiman Marcus' Magnificent Seven Trends for Fall, where they showcased the seven hottest trends for this fall.
So what do you need to know for fall here in the tropics?
"We always incorporate looks that really go with our Miami clientele, but Miami people are trendy ;they love to be in fashion and they do wear the trends," said Katharine Rubio, PR Director for Neiman Marcus Merrick Park. "They do wear tights; they like to be in fashion and what's going on."
Let's look at the magnificent seven straight from Neiman's Runway:
Number one, shoes, high vamp shoes are big, boot shoes are the rage, patent leather is big, high heeled and decorative.
"Being in Miami, people here are fabulous, so you need color. I know with fall this year you're probably still gonna see a whole lot of color," Lisa Pliner said.
And Lisa is right. Color is back, making number two on the list, especially berry colors, purples, anything that looks like you could eat it.
Number three is satin. Yes, silky and shiny is a must for fall, coming in at number four is sleek shapes. Wear it slim and fitted, especially when it comes to skirts.
Fourth is lace, from the bedroom to the ballroom, lace is
on. Number five is romantic tops--anything that makes you feel frilly and silly and free.
And finally if there's one trend you can't miss: Big statement jewelry. The bigger, the better when it comes to accessories.
"If you can't see your jewelry from two blocks away you're not wearing enough," Rubio explained.
But don't forget the very last thing on this year's list: plaid.
