Man Accused In Decades Old Murder To Face Trial

Fred Tador Agreed To Voluntarily Return To Ft. Lauderdale

Ft. Lauderdale & Bahamian Police Worked Together On This Case

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― A Haitian man accused in a crime of passion that left two people dead nearly two decades ago was captured in the Bahamas.

It was February 12th, 1985 when police say Tidorange Noel, 49, who is also known as Fred Tador, went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment on Northwest 5th Avenue to reportedly kill her. Friends of the couple told police Noel was angry at Agnes Atis; the two had recently broken up but were still fighting.

As Noel approached the woman's apartment around 1 a.m., Atis ran and hid when she saw him coming up the walk way. Witnesses told police Noel allegedly walked up to the apartment's front door and fired several shots into it. He then walked inside and fired several more shots, killing two of Atis' friends and injuring a third who were visiting.

Upon arriving at Miami International Airport in handcuffs, Noel spoke to CBS4 News.

"I feel ok, I feel great," said Noel. "So well, look like nothing I can do."

Immacula Herme, 22, and Clement Fatal, 22, were both killed during Noel's shooting spree; Frangilus Munice, 32, from Oakland Park was wounded. Atis was not injured.

After the shooting, Noel fled to the Bahamas. In February, 2008, he was arrested on an extradition warrant in Eleuthra. After consulting with an attorney, Noel waived his right to an extradition hearing feeling he had a better chance to defend himself at a trial.

"23 year is a long time," said Atis.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
