Two Men Cited For Selling Fireworks From Their SUV

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Two men who were selling fireworks from the back of their SUV were caught and cited Friday night.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials busted the two men for peddling more than 250 pounds of pyrotechnic equipment, which marked the second citation of the day.

Fire investigators estimate the fireworks have a street value of more than $13,000. The men were fined and released on the scene. An anonymous tipster set off the investigation and led investigators to the SUV parked at 19000 South Dixie Hwy.

The fireworks will be turned over to the MDPD Bomb Squad for disposal. This seizure raises the total amount of illegal fireworks confiscated by MDFR today to over 400 pounds valued at over $25,000.
