FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ―
A kitchen fire early Saturday sent an 86-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman to the hospital with injuries from smoke inhalation, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Officials told the newspaper that the fire began at 8:45 a.m. in the woman's home on the 600 block of Northeast 12th Avenue. She was rushed to Broward General Medical Center and officials say she's expected to survive.
No one else was in the apartment at the time of the fire, which did not spread beyond the kitchen.
