Major Improvements Planned For Disney's Campground

ORLANDO (CBS4) ― Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness Campground is about to become a little less 'wild'.

Disney officials have announced the campground will undergo the largest set of improvements in the last two decades. The upgrades include cable-TV and Internet service, adding extra-large camper pads for recreational vehicles, Segway scooter tours, a mini-water park, a dog park and an improved electric-cart rental operation.

Campground General Manager Jean Gallagher said in the last 37-years the area hasn't park officials have leaned away from any modernizing improvements because of the traditionally rustic nature of camping. But Gallagher says the new upgrades will better meet the expectations of modern guests.
