Aspiring Comic Wins 'Red Carpet Reporter' Contest

Franchesca Ramsey Won Nationwide Contest

She Works For Miami Chamber of Commerce

She'll Interview Celebrities On Red Carpet At Upcoming Hollywood Awards Show
MIAMI (CBS4) ― Franchesca Ramsey is a 24-year old communications manager of the Miami Chamber of Commerce who will soon work the red carpet at a major Hollywood awards show.

Franchesca won a nationwide contest held by YouTube and People.com in their search for a "Red Carpet Reporter."

Franchesca will soon spend a whirlwind two days in Los Angeles where she will receive the ultimate red carpet treatment herself, including hair and make-up by Revlon, a clothing allowance and VIP entry to exclusive events, before fulfilling her dream of working the red carpet interviewing television's biggest names.

The self described "YouTube Nerd" tells CBS4's Lisa Petrillo she had to make and submit a 2-minute video and she chose to interview a unique subject, her dog named "Filthy McNasty".

"So I got dressed up, had a green screen and fake red carpet in the background and I interviewed "Filthy" and my boyfriend and they picked me as one of the ten finalists," Franchesca told Petrillo.

Next, she was asked to interview complete strangers, so Franchesca hit bustling Lincoln road on Miami Beach.

She asked a couple of tourists if they were sweltering In South Florida's hot sun. The woman replied that her head was imploding. Francheca replied, "I thought you were shrinking."

Franchesca is pretty funny because her second job is a standup comic. She says she likes to use her sense of humor as much as possible to ease the tension and make people feel comfortable with her.

When Franchesca paid a visit to the CBS4 newsroom, she was on a brown carpet, not the red carpet, but still decided to test her interviewing skills on some employees. She managed to hold her own with some pretty tough interviewees including CBS4 Executive Producer Miguel Fernandez and Senior Producer Howard Bernstein.

After asking the tough questions in the CBS4 newsroom, her next stop is Hollywood.

"Well, I've been talking to a top stylist through email. He wants to dress me and pick colors for me. I tried to play it off so cool and serious but was like oh my God oh my God!"
