Afternoon Thunderstorm Whips Up Funnel Cloud

MIAMI (CBS4) ― It was a wet weekend, but not a washout and that was good for people expecting to catch a glimpse of the several fireworks displays throughout South Florida.

But Sunday was a different story in parts of western Broward.
More than two inches of rain fell on Parkland and Coral Springs in 45 minutes and the storm that brought in those showers also produced a funnel cloud that a CBS4 viewer captured over Weston.

"The storm produced one funnel cloud, but not severe wind," CBS4's Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli said. "We had more of southeasterly windflow in the morning, but as the wind collides with the east coast sea breeze we'll see those showers and thunderstorms tomorrow."

Rain chances are probable for Monday afternoon, but expect mostly sunshine.
