Great News: Gas Prices Hit Five Year Low
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Drivers are getting a break at the pump as they head into the New Year. Nationwide, prices at the pump have hit a 5 year low nationwide. According to Triple-A, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $1.64, down $1.34 from this time last year.
In South Florida, the average price is down about $1.40 from last year.
In Fort Lauderdale, regular unleaded is averaging $1.69 a gallon. Drivers in Miami Dade are paying a bit more at $1.74 a gallon.
The most expensive place to fill up in the state is West Palm Beach were regular unleaded is averaging $1.75 a gallon; the cheapest places to fuel up are Tampa and Orlando where regular unleaded is averaging $1.60 a gallon.
