Four people were taken to the hospital after an elderly woman driver accidentally crashed her car into a Dollar General Store on Hallandale Beach Blvd. on Friday.
An employee who witnessed the crash told CBS4 Reporter Natalia Zea, "She bashed right through our front door, right by where I was ringing a lady up with some greeting cards."
The silver Hyundai passed four aisles before finally slamming to a stop against a steel pole in the center aisle, where Janice Foland witnessed the events unfold. "There was such a crash; it sounded like a bomb, glass and everything; we were horrified."
Fold says if the crash had happened a few moments earlier, he daughter could have been killed. "She started looking for me, she said, 'Mom, where are you?' I said, 'I'm over here.' She walked away she got right by the other side a little bit over and then there was such a crash."
Siona Hayoun, another witness, saw a body on the car, "I saw a car just flying at a crazy amount of speed, with a lady laying on the hood, or somebody laying on the car."
Police said they are not certain what caused the woman to lose control, but did confirm the car was going extremely fast.
The store manager told Zea as many as 50 people were inside the store when the car crashed through the wall; it's amazing only four were injured.
It's not known the extent of the injuries to those taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. One person was listed in serious condition.
The driver walked away from the crash, looking a little dazed. Police are not saying if she'll face charges or be ticketed for the crash.
