Parkland High School Grounds Defaced By Vandals
PARKLAND, Fla. (CBS4) ―
Three juveniles were arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon for allegedly taking part in the defacement of parts of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
When students arrived at school on Friday morning, they found areas of their school were not accessible. The areas were blocked off by the Broward County Sheriff's department because someone spray-painted the school's courtyard and front gate.
The images were derogatory towards almost all groups including swastikas, pornographic images, and other inappropriate language.
School custodial staff found the vandalism around 6 a.m. on Friday. Some cans of spray paint were left behind according to
CBS4 news partner the
Miami Herald.
BSO deputies are also looking at surveillance videos from the schools as well to try to ascertain the identities of the vandals.
The damage estimates have been pegged to be thousands of dollars. Students were able to go to class normally on Friday.
