Broward Elementary Student Caught With A Gun

Just Two Days After A Sophmore Was Gunned Down In A Broward School, An Elementary Student Was Caught With A Hangun

FORT LAUDERDALE A third-grader has been charged with one count of bringing a firearm on school property after a fellow student told a teacher the eight year old had a gun in Walker Elementary School on Friday morning.

According to the Fort Lauderdale police department, the student has been suspended, though, released in the custody of his parents. An investigation continues into the incident.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the student was in class and he displayed a firearm to another classmate. The police report said the boy told friends he had bullets inside it, but later removed them.

This comes just two days after a student was shot to death at Dillard High School, in the same city. 15-year-old Amanda Collette was fatally shot by a fellow classmate, a friend who has been charged with first-degree murder.

Ironically, both students attended Walker Elementary School, located at 1001 NW 4th Street in Fort Lauderdale.
