Haitian President To Be Honored In Miami

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Haitian President Rene Preval and the secretary general of the Organization of American States, Jose Miguel Insulza, are scheduled to speak at a luncheon on a cruise ship at the Port of Miami on Saturday.

The two leaders are being honored as "heroes of the hemisphere." The Pan American Development Foundation is hosting the event. The foundation is the disaster relief arm of the Organization of American States, or OAS.

The PADF was created in 1962 and seeks public-private partnerships to assist the least advantaged people in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the organizations website.
