Icy and sleet conditions out of the northern part of the U.S. are causing airport delays this holiday season.

South Floridians can expect pleasant temperatures for Christmas Eve and Noche Buena, but if they fly to other destinations, they could expect delays from an average of one hour because of snow storms in the Midwest.
The weather will be partly cloudy and calm at
Miami and
Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood airports, but travelers should still check their flight status with their airline.
"Did you check your flight today what did you think," asked CBS4 Reporter Jorge Estevez to Miguel Figueroa. "It was pretty fast. There was no one in line. It was excellent," answered Figueroa as he made his way through MIA.
Passengers should also keep in mind that winter weather in other parts of the country could cause delays.
Chicago O'Hare International Airport reported arrival delays of one hour and 42 minutes because of snow and ice.
In Newark, flights were delayed by an average of one hour and six minutes, also because of snowy conditions.
Travelers to San Francisco were warned that arriving flights could be delayed up to one hour and 20 minutes.
