CBS4 News Puts The I-95 Express Lanes To The Test

MIAMI (CBS4) ― CBS4 News put the I-95 express lanes to the test by driving up I-95 north with two station vehicles.

Jorge Estevez drove in one car and producer Jesse Sanchez was behind the wheel in the other. Chopper 4 hovered over I-95 to check on our progress. News Videographers were in each car, documenting the traffic and how effective the lanes were for cutting your trip down in time.

We took to the roads Friday, December 5th at 5pm and headed north.

There was not a lot of traffic at first. But a few minutes into our test, we realized we would see a difference. The car driving in the express lanes quickly broke away from the car in the regular lanes.

In the end, the express lane proved to be quicker by more than 5 minutes at a cost of $1.25. Was it worth it? In the end, you would have to be the judge.
