A Miami-Dade judge has ordered that statements South Miami Commissioner Jay Beckman's son made to police about his father's death be made public.
Judge Roberto Pineiro also ordered that the 911 tape of the call Jason Beckman made that day also be released, but not his school records because they are not considered public record, according to

Beckman, 17, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of his father last April.
Previously released investigative records indicate the teen told a friend that he was going to kill his father and make it look like an accident two weeks before the commissioner was shot.
Lisa Kathie Syren, 17, allegedly told investigators that Jason said his father had taken away his ability to feel and he hated him for that. She also revealed that Beckman knew how to handle a loaded shotgun, a gun which had showed her on occasion.
Beckman claims the shotgun went off accidentally as he was showing his father how he had assembled it. Originally he was charged with manslaughter. The charged was upgraded to first degree murder after investigators talked with Beckman's teachers and friends.
Jay Beckman, 52, was found shot to death in a shower inside the South Miami home he shared with his son. He had been a commissioner since 2006.
Beckman's defense attorney has said that the teen has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome; a mild form of autism which can prevent a person socializing or forming meaningful relationships.
