The Miami Herald reported Friday that police found
anti-hangover pills, prescriptions in someone else's name, and a host of other drugstore remedies.
Investigators reported it found medications in the SUV, including Tylenol, Motrin, Afrin, Nasacort AQ, Lamisil athlete's-foot cream, Preparation H hemorrhoid suppositories, Alka Seltzer, Claritin and Vicks Liquid Caps.
Three prescription bottles for other people were in the vehicle.
One was for Leyritz's 11-year-old son. The two other bottles contained 35 unspecified pills that belonged to someone named Todd Watson, according to the police inventory report.
Leyritz was initially charged with DUI manslaughter and DUI property damage after he allegedly ran a red light in his Expedition on Dec. 28th and the SUV slammed into a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Fredia Veitch, 30, who was killed.
Fort Lauderdale Police Department said he will face additional manslaughter/ unlawful blood-alcohol level charge.
David Bogenschutz, Leyritz's lawyer, has said he will contest the reported blood alcohol level.
New test results showed that the 44-year-old Leyritz had blood-alcohol levels of 0.14 at 6:10 a.m. and 0.13 at 7:12 a.m. on the day of the crash. The legal limit in Florida is .08.
Leyritz, who has a long list of citations on his driving record including a license suspension in New York, is free on an $11-thousand bond. In his career, Leyritz played for six major league teams, starred in the 1996 World Series and was last in the majors in 2000.
