Kohl's Looking To Fill Positions At 6 New Stores

Job Fairs Will Recruit & Screen Applicants

Kohl's Department Stores began looking for for a few good men and women on Monday. The company bucked the trend of layoffs and cutbacks in South Florida by opening the application process for around 900 new jobs at six new Kohl's stores in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
For job applicants, the continued economic downturn hitting the U.S. has hit them hard. "I was lad off a couple of months ago, so I'm gainfully unemployed right now, so I'm looking for a job," said Susan Crump.
It was a recurring theme during question and answer sessions with applicants, "Were you employed before? Yes. What happened? Layoffs, cutbacks."
Even those who run their own business, like Amanda Force, went looking for a regular paycheck. "I've been self-employed for quite a while, but the people I work with, most of my clients, are downsizing or they're relocating," Force said.
Kohl's will be holding a series job fairs to recruit and screen applicants who want to work at the new stores in Coconut Creek, Hialeah, Hollywood, Homestead, Kendall and Miramar.
Job Fairs will take place during the following times at all locations:
- August 12 & 14: 12:15 p.m. - 7:30p.m.
- August 13: 8:45 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Positions available include sales associates, department service, customer service, early morning stocking, truck unloading, housekeeping and evening signage/pricing updates.
