Defense Begins Case In Liberty City 7 Trial
The Men Face Up To 70 Years In Prison If Convicted
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
The defense is scheduled to begin its case Tuesday in the trial of the so called
Liberty City 7.
The seven men from the Miami area are accused of conspiring to set off explosives at the Sears Tower in Chicago and at several federal buildings in South Florida.
Prosecutors have based their case largely on the testimony of two paid FBI informants and dozens of audio and video recordings. They rested their case last Thursday after nearly 5 weeks of testimony.
The seven men each face up to 70 years in prison if convicted of all four charges.
