MIAMI (CBS4) ―
If you have children who love video games, then you know it's an expensive habit to keep up with. With games running between $30 and $50 each, many children are stuck playing the same games over and over again. But the Miami-Dade Public Library System is now offering a solution and it's free.
Miami-Dade's Public Library System is now offering popular video games for checkout.
There are 49 titles in the library system's video games collection and include games rated E, for everyone, and T for teens. The games are compatible with Xbox® 360, PLAYSTATION® 2 and Wii units.
Library card holders, with accounts in good standing, may check out up to 10 games at a time for up to seven days. You can browse through a list of titles at
www.mdpls.org and click on Library Catalog. You can reserve games and have them sent to a convenient branch location for pick up.
By adding games to its collection the library hopes to encourage patrons to visit their local branch, interact with other patrons, share their expertise and interest with others and develop new strategies for gaming and learning.
