CORAL GABLES (CBS4) ― Weather Anchor Lissette Gonzalez and Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli visited George Washington Carver Middle School on Wednesday, November 18th to speak to 8th Grade Honors Earth Space Science classes studying water in the atmosphere and weather patterns.

They spoke about meteorology, global warming, South Florida weather, and Hurricane Season. They answered student's questions, including what it takes to be a Weather Anchor/Meteorologist, and spoke to the students about the importance of education, determination, sacrifice and hard work.

Carver was named the #1 ranked middle school in the state of Florida for the third year in a row, and is ranked sixth in the nation behind a handful of schools in Boston Proper. While at Carver, 95% of the students receive AP college credit in one of four languages. Every science teacher at the school is National Board certified.

Carver is a member of the Weather Bug network; they have a weather station on the roof of their science building.
