Miami Girl Gets Her Wish Granted At Disney

MIAMI (CBS4) ― It's called the place where "Dreams Come True": Disney World. Friday, dozens of very special children from around the world got their chance to fulfill a dream and visit the most magical place on Earth.

Thirty-one children battling life-threatening medical conditions enjoyed a once
a year American Airlines "WishFlight" on Friday to Orlando for a Make-A-Wish experience. The children and their families participated in several events, including bon voyage parties in Miami.

Among the children on Friday attending the festivities was 8-year-old Arianne Balbosa, who lives in the Miami area. She met CBS4's Marybel Rodriguez at the Miami International Airport. The girl, escorted by a handsome prince, a beautiful princess, pirates, and dozens of passengers and volunteers, made her way through the crowds on a whale of a cart to hop onto the "WishFlight."

"I like my wish because I get to go to Disney World, and I'm happy to be here," said a shy Arianne.

When Arianne was six-months-old, she was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease. All that Arianne's mother wants is to see her little princess smile and feel like a normal 8-year-old girl.

The trip is an early Christmas present and a royal treatment this little princess will never forget.

Something mAAgic Foundation volunteers, comprised mainly of American Airlines, American Eagle and American Airlines Federal Credit Union employees, work year-round to raise funds and plan the WishFlight festivities.

During their time in Orlando, families stay at the Give Kids The World Village. The village caters directly to children by providing meals at an ice cream palace and gingerbread house-themed restaurant and entertainment venues including an interactive water park, movie theatre, and fishing pond.

Make-A-Wish grants 13,000 wishes to sick children every year.
