56-year-old German Vita Was Also Arrested

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Going green at one Redland home may send it's occupants to prison for a while.

After receiving a tip, Miami Dade Police discovered more than a thousand marijuana plants growing in a yard beside a home in the 25-thousand block of Southwest 214th Avenue. Investigators estimate the plants are worth about $1.2 million.

Two men were taken into custody during Thursday's raid. County animal services personnel also seized two dogs and a goat that were roaming the home's yard.
