Mayors From Across The Hemisphere Gather In Miami

Mayor Manny Diaz Will Be Inaugurated The 66th President of The U.S. Conference of Mayors

MIAMI (CBS4) ― U.S. mayors and mayors from across the Americas are gathering in Miami Thursday to discuss issues ranging from poverty to the environment.

Two events are being held in the city.  The 76th annual United States Conference of Mayors meet to weigh in on a number of policy issues that impact America's metropolitan areas.  U.S. mayors from major cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago are expected to attend. They're expected to adopt policy recommendations on key issues to forward to Congress and the next president. 

Also going on will be a similar event for mayors from places like Bogota, Caracas, Port-au-Prince and Quito will be attending the Mayors Hemispheric Forum. The forum runs from Thursday to Friday.
