Murderous "Rolex Robbers" Sentenced To Life

Judge Upholds Jury Recommendation Of Life In Prison For The Men

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Two men responsible for the death of a security guard during a robbery attempt at a Coral Gables jewelry store five years ago will be spend the rest of the life behind bars.

Last month, a jury sentenced Ehren Witt and Milton Hall to life in prison for the death of Luis Brito during a 2003 robbery attempt at a Mayor's jewelry store in Merrick Park.

During the sentencing hearing in July, 2008, Brito's daughter took the stand. Laura Brito was 18 when her father was killed and as she spoke, she apologized for crying, "I'm sorry. My mother and I try not to cry."

Wednesday, the judge in the case upheld the jury's recommendation and sentenced the men to life in prison without a chance for parole.

A total of four men were arrested in connection with the homicide-robbery; two men, Andre Williams and Shird Myrick, were outside the store, according to the prosecution, and convicted earlier this year.

The prosecutors had nicknamed the men the "Rolex Robbers" because they reportedly planned to rob the store of tens of thousands of dollars of watches.
