Air Traffic Control To Get Congressional Visitors
MIAMI (AP) ―
South Florida's congressional delegation is set to tour Miami's Air Route Traffic Control Center Tuesday.
U.S. Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart say they've worked to make sure the next generation of air traffic controllers are getting the training they need.
The control center oversees 500,000 square miles of air space stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to Puerto Rico. The members of Congress say it's a crucial component to South Florida's air safety infrastructure.
