Miami-Dade police said Sunday night that they had ended their search for a 2-year-old child with special needs whose father was found murdered in their home.
The child has been found and is safe, according to Miami-Dade Police Spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta who declined to offer specifics.
Miami-Dade police said they received a call Saturday from a person who said they saw blood coming from under the front door at 17901 NW 68th Avenue. When officers arrived they found the bullet ridden body of a 43-year-old man.
Meanwhile, neighbors told
CBS4's Gio Benitez that the area is usually quiet and safe.
"We just heard gunshots. We didn't know what to do," said Chabelys Carpio. "We ran the other direction because we didn't know what it was. It's really shocking. We never hear gunshots or anything like that around this area."
Investigators said the man's daughter, identified as Isabella Valdes, had been missing. Valdes had last been seen with her 20-year-old step sister Yiliam Rodriguez. Police said they had found Isabella, but declined to give specifics about where she had been or if Rodriguez was with her.
