MIAMI (CBS4) ― Low ridership on several Miami-Dade County buses is forcing a big change to the county's bus routes.

The nine routes that will be discontinued are:

  • Route 245 Okeechobee Connection: Use Route 33 to go to the Pal-Med Industrial Park. Route 282 offers service to the Hialeah Gardens City Hall, Wal-Mart Supercenter, and the Palmetto Metrorail station.
  • Route 278 Flagami Connection: Route 7 offers alternative service between NW 7 St. and 57 Ave., St. Dominic's Church, and Metropolitan Hospital to Mall of the Americas. Route 8 will provide alternative service along SW 8 St. Route 57 serves SW/NW 57 Ave.

You can also call (305) 770-3131 (or 305-891-3131 if calling from south of Southwest 216th Street) for more information.

Miami-Dade Transit adjusts its bus routes at least twice a year in response to changes in ridership and customer demand and in order to improve system wide efficiency.

To ensure that you arrive at your destination on time during the first few days after implementation, it is recommended that you get to your bus stop a few minutes earlier.
