"Explosive Device" Removed From Miramar Pkwy.

All Westbound Lanes Were Closed Until Device Was Safely Removed

MIRAMAR (CBS4) ― A section of Miramar Parkway has reopened after a bomb squad crew safely removed what has been called an 'explosive device'.

The device was found around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday evening between Southwest 145th Avenue and Monarch Lakes Boulevard. Miramar police called in bomb squad team and a Haz-mat crew to remove the device. A nearby restaurant was evacuated and the westbound lanes of Miramar Parkway were shutdown as a precaution.

Police have not said what kind of 'explosive device' it was or who may be responsible.
