Security Guard Killed At Miami Gardens Club
There will be no New Year's resolutions for a security guard who was trying to keep order at a Miami Gardens club New Years Eve, after an argument led to a security guard shot dead and at least one other person injured.
The gunfire erupted at the front door of the Kula Nut café on 2nd Avenue and 183rd Street in Miami Gardens, shortly after 4:30 a.m. New Years Day.
Miami-Dade police investigators say the 29-year-old Tory Jermine Eugene, a security guard, was working at the front door of the club when for a reason not immediately known an argument started. Shots were fired, and the security guard was struck and killed.
Miami-Dade Police spokesman Carlos Maura said a second person was in the parking lot when shots were fired and was also injured, but police don't know how badly he was hurt because he fled.
A third person was missed buy shots fired in his direction.
Police investigators are looking for at least one suspect, but say more may be involved.
