NASA Celebrates 40th Anniversary Of Apollo Mission

NASA is celebrating a landmark anniversary.
On December 21st, 1968 Apollo 8 blasted off from the Cape Canaveral. Three days later, on December 24th, astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders became the first humans to circle the moon.
The Apollo 8 mission set the set the stage for the first landing on the moon.
To commemorate the day, three residents of the International Space Station will broadcast a message on NASA television. The message first aired on Friday and will air again on Tuesday.
