Publix Recalls No-Sugar Cherry Pie

Sell-by-date of July 8 to July 27

Recalled Due To Undeclared Soy Ingredient

LAKELAND (CBS4) ― Publix Super Markets of Lakeland, Fla., has issued a voluntary recall on no-sugar-added cherry pie with a sell-by-date of July 8 to July 27.

The company said in a statement Thursday that the pies were recalled due to the undeclared soy ingredient. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the products. The recall affects stores in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.

The Florida stores are in Citrus County south to Monroe County, excluding Orlando proper stores.

The pies and UPC codes are Publix NSA 8-inch cherry pie, UPC: 41415-65990, Publix NSA half cherry pie, UPC: 03000-00225 Publix NSA quarter cherry pie, UPC: 41415-66990.

The company said the error was detected during a routine label review and there have been no reported cases of illness. Customers who purchased the product can return it for a full refund or replacement.

Consumers with questions may contact Publix at 1-800-242-1227. The company's Web site is www.publix.com.
