Broward Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) ―
Family and friends of a murdered Vietnam veteran gathered to remember his legacy with a memorial where he was shot. Richard Entriken was shot and killed on Sunday during a robbery outside the Halfway House Rehabilitation Home, which he helped found and operated.
The former marine had just celebrated 16-year of being sober. He helped hundreds of former convicts recover from alcohol and drug addictions.
His friends are asking for justice.
"We need to find the person who did this," said Billy Gray, the victim's friend. "Rest assure we are not going to give up."
"It seemed like the movies, three guys just came up out of nowhere and started shooting at us," Christopher Doherty, Director of the Sober House told CBS4's Liv Davalos. "Richard was approached by one of the gunmen, he gave up the rent collection bag to him, and the gunman continued to put his gun up consequently shot him in the head."
Police said the 3 suspect fled the scene in a dark blue or black compact, newer model, possibly 4-door, foreign-made vehicle with dark tinted windows.
Investigators are not saying how much money was taken.
