Shots Fired, Crowds Scatter At Rapper Charity Day

Gunshots At Rick Ross Be Out Day

Police Say Shots Scared Kids, But Nobody Was Hurt

MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) ― What was supposed to be a charity event for kids in Miami Gardens turned into chaos after two people fired into the crowd, not hitting anyone by scaring kids and adults alike. One person was arrested and police have recovered a gun.

Police in Miami gardens have yet to release the name of the person they took into custody, but they said a second parson fled the event and is 'on the run'.

Hundreds of people had gathered at Carol City Park on NW 185th street in Miami Gardens when the shots rang out shortly after 5 p.m.

The event was called Rick Ross Be Out Day, and was intended to help parents get their children ready to go back to school, with the distribution of backpacks and school supplies along with a day of entertainment at the park.

About 2500 people were expected to take part.
