Endangered Alert:Missing 6 Month Old And His Nanny

Anyone WIth Information Is Asked To Please Call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers (305) 471-TIPS

MIAMI (CBS4) ― While some families celebrated Christmas on Thursday, one Miami-Dade couple was desperate to learn the whereabouts of their 6-month-old son, Riley, who had reportedly vanished with a babysitter two days earlier.

"I don't even know if he's dead or alive," said Meagan McCormick. "I don't know if they're in a car accident. I don't even know if they're in a car. I don't know where they are."

McCormick reportedly told police her son was with a woman named Camille who had watched Riley when McCormick and the baby's father lived in Boston.

"She's always been responsible, there's only been one time when she was two hours late and it was because she was stuck in traffic."

According to McCormick she and the child's father, John Buchness, moved to Miami in September. McCormick said about a month or two later she had received a call from Camille who said she too had moved to Miami and would be willing to watch Riley again.

In describing Camille, McCormick said she believed the woman drove a red Acura, possibly with a Massachusetts license plate.

Two days before Christmas, McCormick said she received a text message from Camille who said she was on her way to McCormick's residence with the child. Hours later, Camille allegedly sent another message that she was running late and stuck in traffic. Eventually, McCormick had to leave her home and reportedly told Camille to return Riley the next day.

She said that was the last time she heard from the woman.

Miami police said according to McCormick, Camille and her child were last seen in the area of 55 hundred NW 7th Avenue.

McCormick described Camille as about 20 to 30 year old, 5'5" tall,130 pounds with long brown hair. She also speaks with a heavy French accent.
