At least three would-be robbers got into a confrontation with two jewelry couriers on Wednesday in a Boca Raton plaza during which one of the would-be robbers was shot. He was taken to Delray Medical Center and pronounced dead.
The shooting was at the Town Square at 21314 Saint Andrews Boulevard. The shopping center houses a Wendy's restaurant, a Walgreen's, a Shell gas station and the Town and Country Cleaners.
The manager of the Town and County dry cleaners, Karen Brewer, said she saw a man with gray hair fire several shots at a couple of men who were apparently trying to rob him outside the St. Moritz Jewelers.
Police are still looking for others who allegedly took part in the robbery attempt.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers, 800-458-8477.
